$25 Million Racial Discrimination Lawsuit Directed for Sesame Place (Published)

On Wednesday in Philadelphia, a family has filed a racial discrimination lawsuit against Sesame Place. The $25 million lawsuit is coming off the heels of several online videos of black children being ignored by several of the amusement park's characters. The Burns family alleges that Sesame Place characters ignored their 5-year-old Black girl during a "meet and greet". Allegedly on June 18 Elmo, Ernie, Telly Monster, and Abby Cadabby ignored the 5-year-old girl and other Black children. The 76ers Are Planning to Make a $1.3 Billion Downtown Crossover (Published)

Sixers co-owners Josh Harris and David Blitzer want to make the move into Downtown Philly, specifically Market Street. The $1.3 billion move will be the first project for the team's newly formed  development company, 76 DevCorp. As reported by ESPN's Tim Bontemps , 76 DevCorp is comprised of Harris, Blitzer and real-estate developer David Adelman. Adelman is the CEO of Campus Apartments and they are responsible for building several university apartments in not just Philly, but all over the states. The Sixers will also be working with Macerich, the operator of the Fashion District Philadelphia. Back in 1967 the ABA became the first real competitor to the much older and established National Basketball Association (NBA). The ABA was gaining traction in the eyes of basketball fans, and competition didn't look good for the future of the NBA. The ABA was also drafting younger, more exciting players. The ABA was the first basketball league was the first to allow teens who were one year removed from high school to be paid and play in the league. The Spencer Haywood Rule changed the landscape of the sport and introduced the world to many legends like Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett. Within nine years the ABA lost all its traction due to their fight with the NBA. The ABA's lack of TV deals, bribing of NBA referees and general underpaying of athletes led to the league's downfall. Sandra Douglass; The NFL's First Black Woman Team President (Unpublished)

The National Football League is continuing its recent trend of "firsts ever". The Las Vegas Raiders have just hired Sandra Douglass Morgan to be the team's president. The former Nevada Gaming Control Board chairwoman will be the NFL's first Black woman team president in its 102-year history. Raiders tweet NFL Tweet Sandra Douglass Morgan in her previous positions granted her many "firsts". She was the first Black person to serve on the Control Board in Nevada. She was also first Black city attorney in the state of Nevada. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal , Sandra Douglass Morgan didn't officially meet Las Vegas Raiders' owner Mark Davis until September 2021. The role for team president was opened up last May , after interim team president Dan Ventrelle was fired for allegedly acting as a whistleblower for the Raiders' various poor working conditions. Philly Mayor Jim Kenney Rolls Back His Comments on July 4th Shooting (Unpublished)

Philadelphia and Wawa's 4th of July celebrations on the Ben Franklin Parkway were sullied after shootings occurred in the middle of the night. Holden Tweet The seemingly random shooting didn't claim the lives of any civilians in the area. Fortunately, only two people were injured in the shooting frenzy. 13-year veteran police officer Sergio Diggs was grazed in the forehead and 17-year veteran police officer John Foster was grazed on the shoulder. The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #5 since have posted a bounty of $20,000 for the identity of those involved in the very public shooting. There have been no arrests made for the time being.
